I agree, fascinating, well-written, exploratory, full of distinct phrases which offer the gestalt of the book, if that is not too 'big' of a word to use in this discussion. Have I ever " time, memory or identity felt unstable?" Haven't we all? Memory is an unreliable construct at the best of times. Studies have shown that maternal interaction with children, talking about past events, effects the children's memories as adults. The children who weren't spoken to about unfolding events in their lives recalled much less about their childhoods. Memory is a social construct, on top of our brain's ability to recall. The Instability of time is way to large a concept for me to even begin to think about right now. I really enjjoyed reading this thought provoking essay.
